Pollyanna Pixton

Pollyanna developed the models for Collaboration and Collaborative Leadership through 35 years inside and consulting with corporations and organizations. She was primarily responsible for leading the development of the Swiss electronic stock exchange. In addition, she led the development of control systems for electrical power plants throughout the world and the merging of the technologies and data systems of large financial institutions.

Ms. Pixton speaks and writes on topics of collaborative leadership, creating a culture of trust, business agility and agile metodologies. She is the co-author of The Agile Culture: Leading Through Trust and Ownership, a book focusing on leadership tools for transforming environments and creating high performance organizations. Her first book, Stand Back and Deliver: Accelerating Business Agility, covers tools for collaboration, business value to csutomers, and dealing with complexity and uncertainty. She has written for Cutter Consortium, Better Software Magazine, InfoQ, and Stickyminds, among others. Pollyanna is a regular speaker at Agile and SQE conferences and has been active in the agile community since helped organize the first agile conferences in Salt Lake City.

Co-founder of the Agile Leadership Network, she chairs several agile leadership summits a year. Pollyanna is also the director and co-founder of the Institute of Collaborative Leadership, a think tank. Her education includes a master's degree in computer science, three years of graduate studies in theoretical physics, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics.
